Where do we start with this one,
As a person who’s just moved into the area, Simon did a little bit of research on what we do here at CAD Correction And Detail, and decided to bring his much loved TR5 to use for a little spruce up. This TR5 was Fully Restored by Himself and his Father!

With just 2,947 units produced only 1,161 were destined for the UK market, so it goes to show how rare this car is, what makes it even more rare is as of 2011 there were approximately 410 licensed with the DLVA, so numbers have dropped a lot since then would be our guess.
After speaking to Simon, he wanted wheel arches cleaned, as well as underneath, as well as giving the interior a clean (he said it was clean and clean it was!)
So we carefully jacked the front of the car up and took the wheels off, getting it ready to be cleaned.

For Pre-wash, as always we went to Capro Lift, left to dwell for 5 minutes and rinsed off, after that we then used Capro Reset as a shampoo, we used brushes to get into smaller areas and a clean wheel wash mitt for the larger areas, before getting rinsed off looking all clean.
Before and After below!

We then set ourselves onto the wheels, as always Carpro as a pre-wash, a non acid wheel cleaner and a good spray of Carpro Iron X to remove any iron that was on them, before being rinsed and returned back on the car.

The same process then happened to the rear! We didn’t get us fully doing the rear as it began to rain, typical for the UK!

Just as we got all the rear sorted it started to throw it down with rain! So we waited for it to calm down a little before we got back to it.

It didn’t last long! YAY! So back to it!
Again back to Pre-wash! You know how it goes!
Pre-wash, Contact Wash, Tar Remover, Rinse Aid / Top-up Coating
As the car was always waxed, Carpro Lift, Reset, Tar x and a Final coating were in order.

As you can see from the last picture, a generous amount of Capro Hydro was applied, it was also raining so that didn’t help!
We got it inside, did the usual, Drying of the paintwork, Jambs etc. Before we jacked it back up and started to dry/clean the areas we couldn’t get to outside. (I think the last thing you want is to be rolling about outside in the rain!)

As you can see by the last photo, a small rubber grommet wasn’t where it was meant to be, so we took a picture of it for Simon who said “Thank you” and he would get it sorted.
After that we then moved into the interior, which there was very little to do, a hoover, a quick detail of the switches and then cleaning of the glass!

And now Finally the end result! Simon had new Wheel Nuts for the wheels, so we replaced them for him once he came to collect. We didn’t get pictures so you will have to see when the old ones still on!
All we have to say is a huge THANK YOU! To Simon for trusting us with this rare beauty! More things to come from Simon in the future but we will keep you posted.
